New Emojis Galore for Twitter Users, But Only via Desktop, Mobile Web and TweetDeck

The new emojis are not compatible with Twitter clients for iOS, Android, Windows and macOS, as they use their own native emojis

Twitter users now have access to a host of new and updated emojis as part of the release of Emoji 5.0, but only via desktop and mobile web, as well as TweetDeck.

Emojipedia editor Jeremy Burge reported on the addition of Emoji 5.0 to Twitter’s custom emoji set, and Twitter designer Bryan Haggerty shared the news via tweet, as well.

Burge reported that “Tweemoji 2.3” is now available for Twitter.com on desktop and mobile, as well as via TweetDeck and as stickers on Twitter, but the emojis are not compatible with Twitter clients for iOS, Android, Windows and macOS, as they use their own native emojis.

However, Haggerty told Mariella Moon of Engadget that Apple will likely add support for the new emojis on iOS 11.

The new emojis that are part of Emoji 5.0 were listed by Burge:
