At least one of the execs from Hearst's newly acquired Hachette Filipacchi Media isn’t sticking around to be part of the new enterprise. Kevin Martinez, who was demoted from publisher of Elle after Hearst acquired the fashion monthly, resigned Friday, company sources said.
Under Hachette, Elle had a different leadership structure from the Hearst model, and when Hearst bought Hachette, it gave Robin Domeniconi, Elle’s chief brand officer, a corporate role. Hearst installed one of its own, Esquire publisher Kevin O’Malley, to oversee Elle, while relegating Martinez to associate publisher.
