EA adds teen age group and activities to The Sims FreePlay on mobile

Game developer and publisher Electronic Arts has announced the addition of a frequently requested feature to The Sims FreePlay, the ‘teens’ age group. This move comes in the developer’s quest to give the mobile game as much content as in the original PC games, but in an easier-to-manage format that fits its mobile platform.

Teens in The Sims FreePlay can experience lifetime events that are appropriate to the age group, including having their first ‘awkward kiss.’ Players can send their teens to Sim Town High to earn rewards for making good grades, or they can just hang out with other teens in the park.

A future game update will introduce a Teen Idol feature for turning teens into famous musicians. These idols will be adored by other Sims, and will be able to sign autographs, take photos with fans, and more. The teen idol update is expected to hit in November.

In addition to these Teen features, The Sims FreePlay is now also celebrating Halloween, with six new ghosts invading Sim Town. Players that catch them all before Halloween will have a chance to receive spooky new items and costumes for their Sims.

The Sims FreePlay is available to download for free on iOS and Google Play. Check back soon to follow the game on AppData, our tracking service for mobile and social apps and developers.
