Dropbox CEO Drew Houston Added to Facebook’s Board of Directors

The company is still looking for a replacement for Susan Desmond-Hellmann

Facebook allowed a chance to diversify its board of directors to fall by the wayside by adding Dropbox co-founder and CEO Drew Houston, a white male.

Houston founded Dropbox in 2007 with Arash Ferdowsi, and the company has grown to 14 million paying subscribers and 2,300 employees across 12 global offices.

He received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2006.

Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation CEO Susan Desmond-Hellmann left Facebook’s board last April, but a spokesperson for the company said Houston is not a replacement for Desmond-Hellmann and will not be the lead independent director.
