Dragons: Rise of Berk Updated with Combat Mode on Facebook, Mobile

Ludia has announced a new content update for DreamWorks Dragons: Rise of Berk, bringing the anticipated Combat Mode update to players. With this update, players can send their dragons into battle against enemy ships with the goal of defending Berk from these invaders. As players complete battles, they’ll have the chance of unlocking new Battle Dragons for their collection. Before each battle, players can choose the dragons they’d like to send into the fray, selecting from the dragons they’ve already raised in their village. With each dragon placed on the team, the game measures the player’s likelihood of victory. Users can bring up to five dragons into each battle, but some of these teammate positions may be locked to higher Meade Hall levels. During combat, users have access to secondary tools, including a catapult for an instant attack on an enemy ship, and a flare for directing dragons to attack a specific enemy. If these aren’t powerful enough to do the trick, players can send their dragons into combat. Users start each battle with a set amount of energy, and each action (including deploying dragons) consumes that energy. Additional energy is earned by defeating ships in each enemy fleet.Players earn up to three keys from each battle, determined by the amount of damage Berk suffers during combat. These keys are used to unlock treasure chests, which may contain a special Gear currency (used to unlock Battle Dragons) or premium currency, as examples. Battles are only available at timed intervals, and dragons themselves must rest for a time after being used in combat. If their dragons (or Berk) are taking too great a beating, players can retreat from the battle and try again later. It should be noted that damage to Berk is repaired automatically over time when in between battles, or players can spend premium currency to instantly repair the village and jump into the next available battle. Dragons: Rise of Berk is based on the world of DreamWorks’ popular film franchise How to Train Your Dragon. The game allows players to build their own version of the Berk viking village, training dragons and putting them to work collecting wood and fish to complete quests. Dragons: Rise of Berk is available to play for free on Facebook, and is also available to download for free on the iTunes App Store, Google Play and the Amazon App Store.
