Schlessinger recently made headlines following on-air comments that included a racial slur. On her show, Schlessinger suggested that a caller was being overly sensitive regarding racially-charged words. She went on to say that certain members of the black community frequently used “the n-word” in conversation with one another. Schlessinger has since apologized for her comments, but noted that, in years past, people hadn’t tried to “censor” her or “destroy an opposing view.”
