Downbeat Cafe In LA Has No Wi-Fi But eReaders Are Allowed

This morning, we linked to a story about how some California cafes are turning off Wi-Fi in hopes of freeing up tables. While some cafe owners don’t want laptops or iPads around at all, Dan Drozdenko, owner of Downbeat Cafe in Los Angeles, isn’t so strict. He said that he turned off Wi-Fi to help free up tables during the lunch rush.

“We make most of our money on lunch,” said Drozdenko. “We discovered that when we had groups of four come in there weren’t enough tables available.
