Disney Launches Comics iOS App
Disney has a new kids book app called Disney Comics available in iTunes. The app features comic book stories starring classic Disney characters like Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy, modern Disney characters from films such as Toy Story, Cars, and Tron, as well as Disney Channel-inspired content including High School Musical.
The app launches today with 50 different comics available. Going forward, Disney will release two new titles each week. Releasing comics into the App Store, is a strategic move on Disney’s part, as comic book apps have been doing well on iTunes’ Top Grossing App list in the books category.
