‘Dirty Jobs’ Host Attracts Female Fans on Capitol Hill

Mike Rowe, host of Discovery’s “Dirty Jobs,” is gaining in female fans these days. CNN’s American Morning aired a segment on him this morning after he recently appeared before Sen. Jay Rockefeller‘s (D-W.Va.) Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee for a new job initiative called “Discovery Your Skills.”

So what about that female fan base? It’s apparently wide ranging. During that committee hearing, Rockefeller told the Dirty host a couple of times that his wife, Sharon, is a big fan, as did Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) of her six-year-old daughter.

Lest you think the whole “Dirty Jobs” thing is just for image — it’s not. He has worked in the fields of sheep castrating, maggot farming and coal mining. His shows are unscripted.

Sorry ladies, his bio on Discovery says he’s “single, but taken.” But you can see more of Dirty’s day in D.C. on CNN.com today. Above we see him rough and rugged as well as all cleaned up with the senator.
