Digital Exec Bolts From the AP

Nick Ascheim was key to digital expansion plans

Nick Ascheim has bolted from the Associated Press, a little over a year after the news cooperative poached him from The New York Times. As general manager of AP Digital, Ascheim oversaw AP Gateway, a new business unit that was tasked with creating new products for its members, including consumer-paid news products.

Ascheim is moving on to the BBC, where he'll be svp of digital media, overseeing BBC.com for North America and developing new products. He starts May 16.
