Detroit Free Press, What The Heck?
Major mistake over at the Detroit Free Press. A front-page story in last Wednesday’s issue covered a speech that was given on Tuesday, August 28 by Chrysler CEO Bob Nardelli. Only Nardelli was sick on Tuesday and did not deliver the speech on Wednesday, August 29. The Freep published the following sad correcton:
This story has been corrected since it was originally posted. The timing of CEO Bob Nardelli’s address to executives was incorrect in early versions of this story. Nardelli is expected to speak to Chrysler execs today (Wednesday).
As Romenesko points out, “corrections in the print edition and online story don’t explain to readers how the mistake was made.”
