Details Remain Scarce in Carrier-U.S. Surveillance Flap

CNET News reports that “major U.S. telephone carriers refused to answer questions from the Democratic-led Congress about their possible participation in President Bush’s warrantless domestic spying program, according to documents released by lawmakers.”

For those of you who are interested, the article gives a good rundown of what’s at stake, and what has and hasn’t been determined so far. The issue primarily deals with AT&T and Verizon for landlines, not the wireless divisions, along with Qwest Communications.
