The 23rd Annual Webby Awards will be presented Monday, May 13, at Cipriani Wall Street in New York Webby Awards

Comedy duo Desus and Mero and longtime actor Michael Douglas will be honored with Webby Special Achievement Awards at the 23rd Annual Webby Awards, which will be presented May 13.

Desus Nice and the Kid Mero are being honored for their talk-show smash, Desus & Mero, while Douglas is being recognized for his role as Sandy Kominsky in Netflix original The Kominsky Method.

Previous Webby Special Achievement Awards winners included artist Tierra Whack, activist Greta Thunberg, comedian and producer Hasan Minhaj, artist Issa Rae, entrepreneur Emily Weiss, activist and podcast host DeRay Mckesson, Philadelphia Flyers mascot Gritty, anti-bullying activist Monica Lewinsky and Hot Ones host Sean Evans.

The International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences revealed the full list of winners last month.

The event is set for Monday, May 13, at Cipriani Wall Street in New York. Actress and comedian Jenny Slate will host, and people can follow along on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook for highlights, special moments, five-word speeches by the winners and a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the internet with internet co-founder Vint Cerf.

The show will be optimized for social sharing—including how it is filmed and the construction of the stage—to make it accessible for people worldwide in real-time.

Webby Awards executive director Claire Graves said in a release, “Today, people don’t wait to watch what happened at events. They watch what is happening in the moment through the personal experiences of the people they care about. This year, we are excited to enable sharing of personal experiences at the Webbys for all winners and attendees.” David Cohen is editor of Adweek's Social Pro Daily.
