Despite Some Technical Glitches, EAS National Test Successful

The results are in for the first nationwide EAS test held Wednedsay by FEMA.

All New York City radio stations were scheduled to participate in the 2 p.m. test. However, Cumulus’ WABC and WPLJ were unable to air the less than a minute test, due to a technical glitch.

New York State Broadcasters Association President David Donovan tells FishbowlNY the snafu was the “signal for EAS coming into ABC.”

Overall, Donovan says the test was successful for New York stations, cable and satellite providers.
