Facebook Is Trying to Jump-Start Its 'Stories' Feature by Letting Desktop Users See Them

It's being tested 'with a small percentage of people globally'

While Instagram’s version of Snapchat Stories has skyrocketed in popularity, the same cannot be said for parent company Facebook’s version.

Facebook isn’t waving the white flag, however, following up the addition of the option to make Facebook Stories public with a test of the feature for desktop web users.

A Facebook spokesperson confirmed the test in an email to Social Pro Daily, saying, “We can confirm that we’re testing the ability to view Facebook Stories on the web version of Facebook with a small percentage of people globally, and we hope to roll it out more widely soon—no exact details on timing for that quite yet.”
