Normally when we see ‘Gonzo journalism’ – putting yourself in the story – it’s because that person is interesting – doing something interesting – in an interesting way.
Gonzo journalism falls flat when only one of those things are true.

He, however, is a complainer. An uninteresting one at that. He’s the dude you hate to get stuck in line with at the airport because he makes a bad situation – unbearable.
