Brian Williams for the Parrot Win!
There are all sorts of funny newspaper reports about this very funny Southern California parrot story. Then there’s the short, sweet summary offered up by a certain Nielsen-ratings-restored NBC Nightly News anchor.
The Monty Python possibilities here are endless. The Torrance, CA owner of the African grey parrot, Darren Chick, is a Brit; the name of his parrot is Nigel; and presumably, the feathered friend now wants a churro. After flying the coop four years ago, Nigel wound up living with a Hispanic family for several years before being returned with the help of a local vet.
We’re not sure if this parrot business will lead Chick to be added to the Notable People section of Torrance’s Wikipedia page.
