Actor Robert Redford is scheduled to receive award in person at National Wildlife Federation’s 75th Anniversary Gala in Washington, D.C. on April 13th. He’s receiving the award for helping lead conservation efforts for more than 35 years. The reasons offered include: 1) safeguarding clean water 2) developing renewable energy 3) protecting the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and 4) warning against the harsh impacts of global warming.
First Lady Michelle Obama, Center for Environmental Education Founder Jayni Chase and Sen. Dick Lugar (R-Ind.) will also receive conservation awards.
