Cue Sirens: Slate Hires Dave Weigel

Dave Weigel, who recently left his position at The Washington Post following the revelation that he’d suggested to his fellow Journolist listserv members that Matt Drudge might possibly make the world a better place for you / me / the entire human race through setting himself aflame, has been hired by Slate to report on politics.
Slate editor David Plotz told Yahoo’s The Upshot that Weigel had “paid a price” for his comments on Journolist, but that the controversy does not take away from his skill as a reporter.
Slate is, of course, owned by the Washington Post Co.
