Crisis Manager Explains Why She Gave Up on 'Real Housewife'

The Real Soon-to-Be Inmate of Danbury Which reality show has done more damage to New Jersey's reputation: Jersey Shore or The Real Housewives of New Jersey? We can't decide -- and neither can Governor Chris Christie, who's made a point of slamming them both while reminding the rest of the world that Snooki is from Poughkeepsie, dammit! We can't believe we missed this popcorn revelation yesterday, but it seems Wendy Feldman -- crisis expert and advisor to celebrities facing jail time -- has thrown up her hands regarding now-former client Teresa Giudice. There's a real lesson in this tabloid story, though the most amusing thing about it has been Feldman's response on Twitter. The problem, it seems, was that Guidice wouldn't admit that she'd done anything wrong despite the fact that she and her husband have been convicted of multiple forms of fraud. Feldman told Page Six: "This relationship was filled with more problems than usual clients have because of the constant refusal of Teresa to accept responsibility for the smallest thing. This may be due to poor prior advice and so a coping mechanism or just plain denial. In any event, federal prison is no joke and must be navigated with extreme care. In the end that wasn’t done and so the relationship had to take a new direction." What does she mean? Well, today the tabloids report that Guidice's lawyers say she can't possibly go to prison, because it would compromise her ability to do charity work. Yes, really. Feldman's response: And this is why I fired her! Compare that to, say, Renee Zellwegger's response to all the people giving her grief about her appearance (via People mag): "I'm glad folks think I look different! I'm living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I'm thrilled that perhaps it shows...folks who come digging around for some nefarious truth which doesn't exist won't get off my porch until I answer the door."
