CQ Names Kuhn Exec. Dir. of CQ Digital Media

    Congressional Quarterly Inc., the nation’s premier provider of news and analysis on Congress, politics and public policy, today announced that Fredrick A. Kuhn has joined the company as executive director of CQ Digital Media. Kuhn will lead the company’s efforts to maximize advertising sales revenue for CQ.com and the newly enhanced CQ Politics. The announcement is effective immediately, and Kuhn will report to Beth Bronder, vice president of advertising.

    “Fred is known in the industry for his strong team-building skills and expertise in developing Web-based advertising initiatives to drive sales revenue,” said publisher and senior vice president Keith White. “In his new position, Fred will work hand-in-hand with our highly experienced ad sales team to optimize our success for CQ.com and CQ Politics.”

    Kuhn brings 20 years of publishing experience to CQ, most recently as vice president of business development at The Council for Excellence in Government, where he was responsible for strategic planning, revenue generation and customer relations.

    Prior to that, Kuhn was associate publisher/managing director of Government Executive and GovExec.com, part of the Atlantic Media Company’s National Journal Group. As associate publisher, Kuhn led all advertising sales and marketing efforts for the 36-year-old business management magazine targeting senior-level government managers.

    Kuhn started his career with Gordon Publications in Chicago and moved to Washington as a sales manager for IDG’s Federal Computer Week magazine.
