Courier-Journal to Add 75-100 Jobs for Gannett Hub

Yesterday we told you about Gannett’s decision to create five “hubs” in order to consolidate all its page production nationwide, including its flagship USA Today. Today comes a few more details announced by one of the new hubs, in Louisville, Ky.

The Courier-Journal reported today the paper will add 75 to 100 positions in management, newspaper layout and page design. The hiring process could begin as early as next year, and The Courier-Journal will be responsible for 21 of the 78 Gannett publications, including The Indianapolis Star and The Cincinnati Inquirer.
This announcement is the first signal of what could come out of the other four hubs located in New Jersey, Iowa, Tennessee and Arizona. The Courier-Journal will start hiring within the company, before spreading a wider net.
