Cosmopolitan Developing iPad App — for Men

Cosmopolitan knows that whether they admit it or not, men sneak peeks at the magazine. So it developed an iPad app for those men.

Cosmopolitan knows that whether they admit it or not, men sneak peeks at the magazine. So it developed an iPad app for those men.

The New York TimesMedia Decoder reported that CFG (Cosmo for Guys) will be available in the App Store in August.

Among features included in CFG: All About Women, a quiz on actions men should take to impress their dates, as well as an app that uses Google Maps to determine where responses to Cosmopolitan.com questionnaires are based.

Cosmopolitan editor Kate White told Media Decoder the logo was intentionally designed with CFG in large letters and Cosmo for Guys in small print in order for men to stay incognito, adding: “Not long after I got here, I got a high number of emails from guys saying, ‘I love to look at the magazine, I sneak a peek at my girlfriend’s copy.’ A line I’d hear a lot is that it’s like having the opposite team’s playbook.”
