Copywriter in Indonesia Dies After Working 30 Consecutive Hours

This story broke our heart.

Mita Diran, a 24 year-old copywriter in Indonesia, passed away on Sunday after clocking 30 consecutive hours in her office.

According to The Epoch Times, she collapsed onto the floor and then slipped into a coma. Adding insult to injury, the employee of Young & Rubicam in Jakarta tweeted regularly about her intense schedule.

Just last month she tweeted, “Home before midnight after three long, exhausting weekends. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.”

Per the piece, one of her father’s employees attributed the death to “too much of overtime working, and too much kratingdaeng attacks her heart.”

Local reports also mentioned the death may have been related to an Asian version of Red Bull that she frequently imbibed.

The piece indicated Y&R stated:

“It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that we have to inform you we have lost our friend, sister, and work colleague, Mita Diran, earlier this evening. Mita was a talented copywriter with a gentle smile who will always live on in our hearts.

We have been to Mita’s family residence tonight and expressed our sincere condolences on behalf of Y&R Group Indonesia. It is a great loss and we wish Mita’s family the faith and strength in each other in going through this extremely difficult time.”

May she rest in peace.
