Developed by CoolGames’ in-house studio, Tetris for Instant Games challenges players to earn as many points as possible by arranging shapes to form complete horizontal lines. The game contains high-score leaderboards, daily missions and the ability to invite friends to play.
In a press release, Facebook’s director of games partnerships for Europe, the Middle East and Africa Bob Slinn said, “Spanning decades and generations, Tetris has delighted hundreds of millions of fans worldwide, and we’re excited to welcome this beloved franchise to the Instant Games platform. The development team at CoolGames has honored one of the most popular games of all time, and with new platform mechanics like group play on Messenger, fans have a chance to play, connect and share like never before.”
CoolGames said it plans to release additional “AAA titles” for Instant Games in the future. The company’s previous releases on the platform include Battleship, Snake and Jewel Academy.
