CONtv Launches Digital Entertainment Network for Comic Con Fans

The app offers thousands of films, television episodes, and Comic Con convention videos relating to "all things fandom."

Wizard World and Cinedigm have released CONtv on iOS and Android devices, giving fans of the Comic Con convention series the ability to view thousands of hours of free or premium video content relating to those conventions, as well as film and television content spanning a variety of popular genres, from grindhouse classics and science fiction to horror and fantasy, comedy, anime and more.

Like Netflix, the app organizes videos based on theme or genre, and users can either browse these lists or search for something specific. For Wizard World-specific coverage, ongoing series are available, including “Live @ the Con,” and “All Access Pass,” which give users a view of celebrity panels, expert Q&As, artist workshops and more.

Elsewhere, the “CON City” series explores the local culture of Comic Con convention locations, helping attendees plan their next trip, while a competition series like “Drink & Draw” features amateur and professional creators as they go head-to-head in drawing and writing competitions.

The platform has launched with over 2,500 films, television episodes and pieces of original programming, with more coming in the future. For instance, on March 22, all 11 episodes of the “Fight of the Living Dead” horror/reality series starring top YouTube stars will release exclusively on CONtv.

The CONtv experience is also available on the web, with CONtv subscription packages offering an ad-free experience, as well as access to exclusive content and perks at Wizard World Comic Con conventions, including reserved seating and discounts.

CONtv is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store and Google Play.
