Coke Zero’s Digital Sweater Generator Calls on Your Inner Knitter

Soda debuts social contest for the holidays

They cannot compete with cats, but funky sweaters still go over pretty well on the Internet. With that in mind, Coke Zero wants consumers to tap their inner knitter by designing a holiday sweater via a microsite dubbed Coke Zero Sweater Generator.

Folks can detail the cut, color, pattern and icons for their sweater, and then encourage their Facebook friends and Twitter followers to vote for their creation. On December 1, the 100 sweaters with the most votes will be manufactured and shipped to the contest winners.

It calls to mind Coke Zero's 2013 Mother's Day initiative led by Droga5 that let forgetful sons send a portrait of themselves to their mom through a cool set of digital tools. New York-based Droga5 crafted this effort as well.

To keep track of how the brand's appeal is going during the next two weeks, people can follow the #sweatergenerator hashtag on Twitter.
