We’re exited to announce our first steps toward bigger, bolder tech coverage. Our terrific bunch of tech journalists is ready to take it to the next level. Starting today, the and CNNMoney tech editors, producers and reporters in New York, Atlanta and San Francisco will join forces into a single powerhouse team with a unified vision: to cover the technology news that matters most. Our goals are to create a more efficient and flexible team, make better use of our network resources, and integrate digital and TV video to compete in the noisy tech media landscape.

Tech editor David Goldman in New York will lead the new team. As his Gotham colleagues know, Dave’s passion for tech, journalistic smarts and editorial vision, creativity and energy make him an outstanding leader. Working with input from the entire team, David will evolve our coverage across our sites to ready it for exciting advances later this year. Dave will continue to work with CNNMoney assistant managing editor Paul La Monica in New York and coordinate closely with Senior Features Editor Mira Lowe in Atlanta. Dave will be in the Atlanta newsroom Tuesday to say hi.

Here’s who is leading the team:

  • David Goldman will manage the team, coordinate coverage and edit.
  • Brandon Griggs will assist in making editorial decisions and editing. He’ll also eventually be freed up to write more stories.
  • Paul La Monica will supervise David, helping coordinate tech coverage and edit when necessary.
  • Erica Fink will coordinate tech video coverage.
  • Mira Lowe will consult with the team when we launch big specials and features.

We’ll focus on four pillars of coverage: The business of Big Tech, Innovation, Privacy/Cybersecurity and Our Digital Lifestyle. The talented team who will be assigned to those beats includes Laurie Segall, Heather Kelly, Adrian Covert, Todd Leopold, Jose Pagliery, Doug Gross, and other Friends of Tech around the network.

This important initial step is one of much more to come. Our audience craves more great tech stories across all our platforms. Now we have a great team to build the foundation for going forward.
