CNBC.com to Detail America's Top States for Business
CNBC.com will complement the cable network’s weeklong America’s Top States for Business programming event July 12-16 by publishing the complete rankings for all 50 states Tuesday, July 13, along with in-depth examinations of why each state finished where it did.
The business-news network’s Web site will also feature exclusive lists such as “Top States for Tech,” “Best Quality of Life,” “Friendliest States for Business,” and “Best Cost of Living.”
CNBC said it used 10 broad categories to flesh out its rankings, which were (maximum points in parentheses): cost of doing business (450), work force (350), quality of life (350), economy (314), transportation and infrastructure (300), technology and innovation (250), education (175), business friendliness (175), access to capital (50), and cost of living (25).
