Did we say “free” too many times in that headline? At any rate, Maya Payne Smart, who late last year lamented how underpaid freelance business reporters were* is leading a free online class to teach freelancers how to make more money.
Sales Strategies for Freelance Business Journalists, offered through the Reynolds Center for Business Journalism, takes place online Aug. 16-19.
It is free and will include a panel discussion with editors who hire freelance journalists. The content is aimed at business journalists but we suspect freelancers in other disciplines may learn something as well.
*Many freelancers–not just business writers–are underpaid, but you’d think that people who write about money all day would know how to make some.
