Implantable Eye Telescope That Treats AMD Finally Gets FDA Approval (via Singularity Hub)

The miniature CentraSight telescope can be implanted in one eye to help treat age-related macular degeneration (AMD). AMD is caused by damage to the retina that causes a loss of vision in the center of the visual field. CentraSight is implanted in the front of the eye. So, it is not a “cure” for AMD. However, it can help improve the vision of some people in end-stage AMD.
