CBS News Launches iPad App

CBS News is launching an application for Apple's iPad today. The app, which is free, will feature full episodes of CBS News programs such as "Face the Nation" and "CBS Evening News," which can be streamed over wifi and 3G. It will also have text and video from CBSNews.com. including original web programs @KatieCouric and Washington Unplugged. The app will have social networking features built-in, allowing users to share stories or video via Facebook, Twitter or email. CBS News is the second of the network news organizations to launch an iPad app. ABC News got in the game early, launching an iPad app with a custom interface in July. "The CBS News iPad app makes it easy for our audience to find the news they care about quickly," said Mark Larkin VP of CBSNews.com in a statement. "It's a great way to get our award winning CBS News broadcast content and original web content into the hands of our passionate users whenever they want wherever they are."
