The social network’s research arm revealed the month’s Hot Topics

Hip-hop star Cardi B was a red-hot Hot Topic on both Facebook and Instagram in April, according to Facebook IQ.

The social network’s research arm said other Facebook Hot Topics in the people category last month included Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Kate Middleton, while Instagram users discussed the death of DJ Avicii and hip-hop star Post Malone.

Mother’s Day and the Boston Marathon were hot holidays and events on Facebook, while Instagram users chatted up the race and Earth Day.

Avengers: Infinity War and Sean Hannity were entertainment Hot Topics on Facebook in April, while Khloé Kardashian and J. Cole heated up Instagram.

Starbucks woke up Facebook in April in the brands and products category, while Instagram users turned to McDonald’s for their coffee, making McCafé a Hot Topic for the month.

The Cleveland Cavaliers’ Tristan Thompson, the Dallas Cowboys and the Boston Red Sox were Facebook Hot Topics in the sports category last month, while America’s Team was joined on Instagram by Conor McGregor and the Utah Jazz.

Finally, in the food and drink category, Facebook users wet their whistles with sangria in April, while English breakfast tea was Instagrammers’ beverage of choice.

Facebook IQ measured subjects that drove disproportionately high volumes of discussion on both social platforms, marking the latest in a Facebook-Adweek Hot Topics monthly series that began in 2015.
