Call the Close on CNBC.com, and Head to the Kentucky Derby

ChurchillDowns.jpgCNBC.com is certainly not being chintzy with the prizes for its Call the Close contest, in which participants guess the close of the Dow Jones Industrial Average.

The winner of a 2010 Maserati GranTurismo — the daily winner of the free contest is the one who comes closest to the close figure, with guessing the S&P 500 used as a tie-breaker — will be announced live on CNBC the week of April 4, after which CNBC.com will shift gears, so to speak, but remain on the subject of horsepower.

Contestants who register online or on a mobile device and submit their guess from 4:30 p.m. ET until 1 p.m. the following day by Wednesday, April 21, will have the chance to win a trip for two to the 2010 Kentucky Derby and a $100,000 Derby DreamBet — the opportunity to place a $100,000 win wager on the horse they think will win the race and keep any the resulting winnings.

NBC Sports will air the 136th Kentucky Derby Saturday, May 1, at 4 p.m. ET.
