California AG Is Suing Delta Airlines Over App Privacy Issue

California Attorney General Kamala D. Harris has filed a lawsuit against Delta Airlines claiming that airline’s mobile app does not comply with the state’s Online Privacy Protection Act.

The Fly Delta app lets users check in to flights online, view reservations, pay for checked baggage, access their frequent flyer account, and event take photos. According to Harris, the airline does not offer users a clear privacy policy. The complaint claims, “California law is clear that mobile apps collecting personal information need privacy policies, and that the users of those apps deserve to know what is being done with their personal information.”
