Yelp introduced several ways for businesses to enhance their profiles on the reviews and recommendations platform by spending a few dollars per day.

Director of product management Alon Shiran said in a blog post, “Yelp has always been a place for consumers to discover hardworking business owners who’ve earned their great reputation over the years. Now, with our new business page upgrades, we’re excited to give businesses the tools to stand out and highlight what makes their business unique, establish credibility and build their reputation on Yelp.”

The new Business Highlights option enables businesses to choose up to six badges from more than 30 available options and showcase what makes them unique. Examples include vegan-friendly, satisfaction guaranteed and the number of years it has been in business.

Business highlights cost $2 per day, lowered to $1 per day for businesses that also purchase search ads from Yelp.

Yelp’s Portfolio feature enables businesses to showcase the different types of projects they work on, via photos accompanied by custom descriptions, in which they can detail their approaches and price ranges. Shiran wrote, “This helps to set expectations with consumers and get more relevant inquiries.” It costs $2 per day.

Shiran also issued a reminder about the verification option Yelp introduced in March, Yelp Verified License.

The option is available to businesses in specific categories and in certain states for $1 per day, and Shiran wrote, “After 30 days of having a Verified License badge on their business page, businesses saw an increase in consumer engagement on Yelp, including clicks, calls and map views. To become verified, a business must apply through Yelp, which manually verifies each license.”

All of these offerings are available via the Yelp for Business Owners site, and Shiran said they will soon be accessible via a new self-service experience.
