Business Insider Promotes Alyson Shontell to U.S. Editor in Chief

Exciting new BI roles for Shontell and her Tech Insider colleague Gus Rubin.

In a memo to staff, Henry Blodget today highlights some dynamic streamlining of the U.S. operations of Tech Insider and Business Insider. Since the two sites were covering many of the same stories, it was decided that it made sense to combine the tech groups into one as well as eliminate some duplicated responsibilities.

Tech Insider will remain a standalone site. In addition, as part of the streamlining, Tech Insider deputy editor Alyson Shontell (pictured) has been promoted to editor in chief of Business Insider U.S.,
