Bug Caused Camera on Facebook iOS App to Activate When Not in Use

The social network submitted the fix to Apple

A bug in Facebook’s flagship iOS application caused the app’s camera to activate after users tapped on photos while browsing News Feed.

Dimitar Mihov (Mix) of The Next Web and Alfred Ng of CNET shared several tweets from Facebook users (embedded below) regarding the issue.

Facebook vice president of integrity Guy Rosen took to Twitter to address concerns about the issue, tweeting, “We recently discovered that our iOS app incorrectly launched in landscape. In fixing that last week in v246, we inadvertently introduced a bug where the app partially navigates to the camera screen when a photo is tapped.
