Brazilian President Rousseff Speaks for Women, Emerging Countries

Brazil’s President Dilma Rousseff today became the first woman to ever open debate at the United Nations General Assembly, making her speech a call for an end to gender discrimination and the dominance of just a few of the world’s nations.

She called upon all countries affected by the economic recession (which is all countries) to play a role in its solution. Brazil, an emerging market itself, is vying for membership on the U.N. Security Council.
