Bravo releases Real Housewives: The Game on Facebook.

NBC Universal owned cable television channel Bravo today announced it officially released Real Housewives: The Game on Facebook.

The game, which is based on the reality television franchise, invites players to explore the fashion and drama oriented world of The Real Housewives of New York City stars as they climb to the top of the New York City social ladder.

Categorized by Bravo as a role-playing game, Real Housewives: The Game allows players to create, style and name their character and interact with friends, as well as cast members from the television show. The game will also update with new “Show Quests” the day after a new episode of the [show – SERIES] airs.

Facebook games with ties to reality television shows previously had mixed results. When MTVN Social Gaming’s Jersey Shore first launched in 2010 it quickly grew to a million monthly active users and then promptly lost them all. The Situation & Family Boardwalk Arcade also peaked at 2,000 MAU. On the other hand, Pawn Stars: The Game is currently enjoying 1,200,000 MAU.
