Larry King Kicks Off Inaugural Charley Steiner Symposium

Three-day sports communication event runs through Wednesday.

Earlier this year, Bradley University in Peoria, Ill. added the Charley Steiner School of Sports Communication, thanks to a generous endowment from Steiner, who graduated from the school in 1971.

Since 2005, Steiner has been doing play-by-play on TV and radio for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Before that, he worked at ESPN and in the Yankees booth. This week, his school is hosting its first annual sports communication symposium, with Steiner front and center. From an interview with the Peoria Journal Star:

“I’ve always been enamored with storytelling, and we just don’t see enough of that these days,” Steiner said…

“I have no idea where we’ll be in the next five years, technology-wise.
