FishbowlNY has remarked in the past on the growing kingmaker status of Jon Stewart. But that was regarding American Presidential candidates. This week’s meeting of the United Nation’s General Assembly and the Clinton Initiative, however, has offered interesting international guest opportunities for the satirist extraordinaire. You may not believe this (we still don’t), but leftish Bolivian President Evo Morales will appear on The Daily Show tomorrow. From the press release:

”The visit by President Morales marks the second time a sitting head of state has appeared on ‘The Daily Show.’ General Pervez Musharraf, President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, was the first, appearing on September 26, 2006. In addition, former President Jimmy Carter appeared on the show in December 2005 and former President Bill Clinton has appeared three times, most recently last Thursday.”

To be sure the writers at The Daily Show with Jon Stewart are probably crafting their best sheepish permutation of “Mr. President, did you .. did you bring any cultivated coca leaves for me?” line for the show’s brilliant host.
