Boehner Hires Lobbyist to Be His Policy Director

John Boehner, soon-to-be Speaker of the House, has hired Brett Loper, the senior EVP of the Advanced Medical Technology Association, to be his policy director. In the senior EVP role, Loper was the medical device industry’s chief lobbyist, Politico says, adding that he was “deeply involved in the health care debate and fought against the fees Democrats ultimately assessed the industry to help pay for reform.”
