Bob Schieffer Leaving Earlier Than Anticipated

Looks like John Dickerson will be stepping up to the plate in June.

Looks like John Dickerson will be stepping up to the plate earlier than expected.

Bob Schieffer‘s last Sunday as host of “Face the Nation” will reportedly come on May 31st. Schieffer had originally announced that he intended to leave his CBS post this summer, but according to an AP story, he “wants to relax for the warm weather months while CBS gives his successor, John Dickerson, the chance to settle in before the presidential campaign begins in earnest.”

He has yet to say what he will do following his retirement, however, it’s unlikely he’ll be at any other network — as he has stated, “I’ll never work any place other than CBS.”
