Bloomberg Means Business: Expense Report Edition

The life of a Bloomberg reporter is not all snack-packed kitchens and bloated salaries. The company means business. Or at least when it comes to expense reports.

The life of a Bloomberg reporter is not all snack-packed kitchens and bloated salaries. The company means business.  Or at least when it comes to expense reports.

Though one Bloomberg reporter referred to it as “one of the most effective nudges [he’s] ever seen from an employer,” FBDC is slightly baffled by the hard-ass expense policy.

Here’s how it goes: A reporter has X days to create and submit an expense report after travel etc.  When those days are up, Uncle Michael cuts off your email until you complete your expenses.  Literally locks you out of email. OUCH.

Then again, you don’t become a bajillionaire by putting journalism before money. Gives a new meaning to “money talks,” no?  Money emails? Eh, never mind.
