'Blogger' Makes its Ich Bin Ein Debut

Over the week-end the Times pointed out that Barack Obama’s rock-star-ish Berlin speech had shades in it of, well, just about every rhetorical genius of the last 500 years. They drew comparisons to Kennedy, Reagan, Lincoln, and even (rather tenuously) Shakespeare. However! A twitterer has pointed out to us that Obama’s speech had something none of those others contained: the word ‘blogger.’

Will we stand for the human rights of the dissident in Burma, the blogger in Iran, or the voter in Zimbabwe? Will we give meaning to the words “never again” in Darfur?
