Owners of Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ smartphones with the Bixby digital assistant will enjoy quick access to some LinkedIn features.
LinkedIn senior manager, consumer business development Sofia Andrianakou announced in a blog post that Bixby will provide information to users on contacts they are planning to meet with, as well as news from Trending Storylines on the professional network.
Bixby’s My Schedule notifications will include links to the LinkedIn profiles of people users are schedule to meet with, giving users access to background information on those people and shared connections, and that information will be available afterward in a “LinkedIn: People You Met” section.
News from LinkedIn’s Trending Storylines will also appear in the Bixby feed.
Andrianakou said Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ owners with the Linkedin application installed must login to their accounts, after which LinkedIn prompt cards will appear on Bixby’s home screen “contextually” throughout the day.
