Bill Gates Socializes on Facebook, Twitter
Unlike Manchester United, Microsoft chairman Bill Gates has been quite the socialite, reactivating his Facebook account and joining Twitter, TechCrunch reported.
Gates quit Facebook this past summer, saying he couldn’t keep up with friend requests, but his new page is a Fan page, meaning other Facebook users can automatically become Fans without Gates having to do anything. Facebook confirmed to TechCrunch that the page was legitimate.
As for Twitter, the account is now a verified account, and CNET reports that Gates is following actress and singer Ashley Tisdale because she works with Microsoft and with developing countries, and he retweeted posts from Ryan Seacrest about Haiti relief efforts.
At the time of this post, Gates had accumulated more than 56,000 Facebook Fans and nearly 200,000 Twitter followers.
