A Major Change of Editorial Scenery at Better Homes and Gardens

EIC Gayle Butler is retiring at the end of June.

These kinds of continuous career trajectories with a magazine publisher are getting fewer and farther between.

At the end of this month, after 30 years of service with Meredith Corp., Gayle Butler will retire. She has been the editor in chief of Better Homes and Gardens since 2006. From today’s announcement:

“Gayle has done an outstanding job ensuring that the brand is contemporary, modern and relevant to American women from Baby Boomers to Millennials,” notes Meredith National Media Group president Tom Harty.

Taking over her spot, starting July 6, will be Stephen Orr.
