BBE’s Danny Fishman Jumps to Digital Broadcasting Group

Danny Fishman, who was recently named president of the Web video producer/network BBE, has according to sources left the company to take a similar leadership position at Digital Broadcasting Group (DBG), a two-year old startup that produces scripted series and branded entertainment video for the Internet.

Fishman had previously headed up ad sales for BBE, which was originally founded as Broadband Enterprises. That company has been a pioneer in the online video ad network arena while also producing a growing number of original series, including the popular makeover spoof Cube Fabulous and the fantasy sports-themed The Fantastic Two. Fishman was unavailable for comment.

DBG was founded in 2007 by Chris Young, a Web entrepreneur who had previously founded the rich media company Klipmart, which was purchased by DoubleClick in 2006. The company claims to be able to distribute its video content across a network of 2,600 Web sites that reach in total over 100 million unique users.

That’s is similar to the promise of BBE, which has attracted premium advertisers like Coke and McDonald’s to its network. Executives at the firm declined to comment, but issued the following statement: “BBE is an organization that thrives on and benefits from change…We appreciate Danny Fishman’s contributions to the company’s early growth, and to our very significant progress. We wish him well in his future endeavors.”

Joe Gallagher, who recently joined BBE as the company’s executive vp of U.S. sales, will take on the additional role of executive vp of international sales.
